Atlanta, Georgia — Members of the New Acquisitions team swapped their usual work environment for a construction site, volunteering with Habitat for Humanity to help build safe, affordable housing for families in the community.
Habitat for Humanity brings together volunteers, homeowners and local partners to build and improve homes that families purchase through affordable mortgages. Volunteers handle framing, siding, painting, landscaping and site clean-up alongside site supervisors and, often, the future homeowners themselves.
Why our team shows up
A build day is not a photo opportunity. It is a full day of physical work with a clear, measurable result at the end of it — a wall raised, a porch finished, a site left ready for the next crew. That kind of work translates surprisingly well to what we do professionally: show up prepared, follow the plan, support the person next to you, and finish what you started.
You learn a lot about people on a build site. The habits that make someone great on a job site tend to be the same habits that make them great with customers.
Part of a longer commitment
Housing is one of several causes our team supports year-round, alongside Alzheimer's research and care, pancreatic cancer awareness, women's health, and back-to-school support for local students. Our aim is steady, repeated involvement in a handful of causes our people genuinely care about rather than scattered one-off gestures.
